- Year 1 Confirmation Preparation – Entering the Journey
  
  Welcome to the beginning of your Confirmation journey at St. Vincent Martyr.
  Year 1 in Youth Ministry focuses on belonging to a welcoming parish community and building a strong foundation for a lifelong journey of faith. Throughout the year, teens are invited to deepen their faith in meaningful and personal ways—through worship, retreats, outreach, and reflection—while connecting with peers, families, and the wider parish community.

  What to Expect
  Catechetical Sessions
  Catholic School Students: Attend 3 sessions
  Public/Non-Catholic School Students: Attend 7 sessions
  All sessions include check-in at 3:30 PM in the gym, a presentation at 3:45 PM, and concludes with 5:00 PM Mass in the Church.
  Retreat Experience
  It is mandatory to choose between one of the two retreat experiences.
  Alpha Retreat – December 4–5, 2026
  Confirmation Retreat– February 20, 2027 | 2:00pm–5:00 PM. For teens who do not attend the Alpha Retreat .
  5:00 PM Sunday Mass
  Mass is at the heart of Youth Ministry. Families are encouraged to attend together, and teens will have opportunities to serve at this liturgy throughout the year.
  Year 1 Dates (2026–2027)
  Sunday, September 13, 2026 - Parent/Teen Orientation - All 1st Year students (Catholic school, public school, & non-Catholic private school). Check-in - 3:45 PM start - Concludes with 5:00 PM Mass in the Church with a parent/teen prayer experience.
  Catechesis Sessions - Public school & non-Catholic private school students. Check-in 3:30 PM (gym) - 3:45 PM start - Concludes with 5:00PM Mass in the Church.

  Sunday, February 7, 2027 - All 1st Year Students Catechesis Session (Catholic school, public school, & non-Catholic private school). Check-in 3:30PM (gym) - 3:45PM start - Concludes with 5:00PM Mass in the Church.
  Sunday, April 25, 2027- Final Session – All 1st Year Students (Catholic school, public school, & non-Catholic private school).
  
  Attendance & Communication
  Attendance is required for orientation, the retreat (Alpha or the February presentation), and your teen’s assigned catechetical sessions
  Teens must sign in at each event to receive credit.
